I took a trip to the coast last year and took soem pics. Go to Longview WA, (across from Rainier) and then follow the signs to SR14(the road to the beach). Anyway, the trip is beautiful on with winding roads going through quaint river towns and eventually leads to Long Beach WA and Fort Canby St. Park. |
Skamamakawa
This sleepy little town doesn't even have a stoplight but is pretty, is right next a wildlife refuge and you can rent kayaks if ya want.
Anyhow, this picture is from the bridge with the automatic landscape setting.

The ocean from North Head Lighthouse
If you take the road from SR14 to Ft, Canby St. Park, you can find North Head Lighthouse. The view is incredible and there are some cool trails as well. |

The lighthouse keepers trail.
If you hike up to the Lighthouse keeper's homes, you can walk the trail they walked each night to keep the light burning. |

Through the trees from the road.
If you don't hike the lighthouse keeper's trail, you walk the road. |
Another bridge shot.

St. Mary's of McGowen Church
Right past the Astoria bridge, is a little church, it was built around 1900 and I liked the look of the sun with the church. |
